This traditional nut brittle is a quick and simple sweet made with roasted peanuts and jaggery. It’s crunchy, naturally sweet, and perfect as a homemade treat or festive snack.

- 240 g Jaggery (natural cane sugar)
- 200 g Peanuts
- 1 tsp Butter (for greasing and syrup)

Prepare jaggery
Cut the jaggery into small pieces so it melts easily. Set aside.

Roast peanuts
Dry roast peanuts in a frying pan on low heat, stirring frequently, until lightly golden. Do not overbrown. Set aside to cool.

Melt jaggery
Heat a pan on very low heat, add butter and jaggery. Stir continuously until fully melted and smooth.

Check syrup consistency
Drop a little syrup into cold water. If it hardens and cracks, the syrup is ready.

Add peanuts
Add the roasted peanuts to the melted jaggery and mix well to coat evenly.

Immediately transfer mixture onto a butter-greased board. Flatten using a buttered rolling pin.
