Air Fryer Broccoli Pakora (Broccoli Bhaji)

This air fryer broccoli pakora is a healthy, crispy snack made with minimal oil. It’s quick to prepare, full of spices, and perfect with mint chutney or chili sauce.

  • 180 g Broccoli florets
  • 2 small Spring onions, chopped
  • 1 small Onion, sliced
  • 2 tbsp Fresh coriander, chopped
  • 1 tsp Kashmiri chili powder
  • 1 tsp Garam masala
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Hing (asafoetida)
  • 2 tbsp Lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp Oil (plus extra for spraying)
  • 4 tbsp Gram flour (besan)
  • 4 tbsp Rice flour
  • optional Green chilies, chopped

    Blanch broccoli

    Boil broccoli florets in salted water for 2 minutes. Drain and set aside.

    Prepare vegetables

    Slice onion, chop spring onions, chilies, and coriander.

    Make batter

    In a large bowl, combine broccoli, onions, coriander, chilies, all spices, gram flour, rice flour, lemon juice, and oil. Mix well. Do not add water; moisture from onions is sufficient.

    Let the mixture rest so spices coat the broccoli evenly.

    Air fry

    Preheat air fryer to 200°C. Place pakoras on lined basket, spray lightly with oil, and air fry for 15 minutes, turning halfway.
